Alright Leaders let’s get real. We hate 99% of meetings and how they are run, however we don’t do much about it.
Why?
Is it lazyness, or I’ll just do other critical stuff during it so I don’t care? Would this be like saying we are going to play with our kids but instead we just zone out and catch up on emails.
These were the thoughts that came to my mind on a Sunday night when I couldn’t fall asleep.
I had to do something about it…
So I started to investigate who ran meetings best?
Steve Jobs was laserfocused on who had to be there. This for sure helps.
Benjamin Franklin was critical on starting with a clear set of questions to probe the attendees on what the purpose of the meeting was and what we are trying to accomplish.
Jeff Bezos starts the meeting with a preread memo so everyone is on the same page. This is beneficial because, sometimes, due to a lack of thorough investigation and data collection beforehand, we simply schedule a meeting to pin this priority on the ground and “pretend” that we will figure things out within an hour.
Or may I say an hour and 4 minutes since 98% of all the meetings I attended last week ran late. Which caused the next meetings to start late.
And the cycle continues…
Well I am here to tell you there is a better way.
Not only a better way but an amazing way. A way that will have you say wow, I love my meetings and can’t wait to lead the next one.
Can you picture saying that in just 3 weeks?

It’s not just the typical script and checklist to do in every meeting. It’s a total framework of three parts:
- Energy, 2. Toolset, 3. Treasure
It is truly life changing.
Think about it, on average managers spend 50 hours a week working and 4 hours a day in meetings. That is 20 hours a week times 52 weeks, 1040 hours a year and if you work for 40 years of your life that is 41,600 hours of your life spent in meetings.
